I don’t know what to dream any more
I finished the first draft of my novella last weekend. It came in at just over 38,000 words. I also dictated the remaining section into Word, so now it’s all digitized. I made one quick pass through to fix up … Continue reading
POWs
One of the first things I do each year is create a new Microsoft Money ledger to record my writing income and expenses. Some years start off with expenses, and it can be some time before the first income comes … Continue reading
Objects in Space
Had to post this picture. Who would have thought that I’d get my name on the cover of a Stephen King novel? Along with Ramsey Campbell, no less. A cool front came through this weekend and fall seems to be … Continue reading

Off the grid
We spent the holiday weekend off the grid, which is unusual for both of us. No phones, texts, emails or web presence from Friday afternoon until yesterday. We went to a B&B in Galveston for three nights, which was a … Continue reading
Some people are immune to good advice
It is surprisingly difficult to deem a short story “finished” and to send it out into the world. My writing progress for the weekend consisted of taking a 4300 word short story and turning it into a 4000 word story. … Continue reading
