Looks like the alphabet has decided to march across the Atlantic all at once. Ike appears to be the one of most interest, because it’s following an unusual track, but Hannah was strange, too, and continues to threaten the east coast.
Memphis put himself in an interesting position by winning the POV last night on Big Brother. He didn’t know how badly Jerry wanted to get rid of Dan, so he doesn’t understand what he did to one of his three alliances by using the POV that way. Having gone on the record with Jerry about wanting Renny gone, I have no doubt that’s the way he’ll vote tomorrow, with Dan in lockstep. And then there will be four.
I watched last week’s The Closer, which was an interesting look at the randomness of gang-related violence in some areas. The victim wasn’t killed simply because he was a member of an opposing gang, he was killed because he was suspected of being a member of an opposing gang. The “puppet” character was interesting. The reason why people get killed? Because it’s Tuesday. I almost got through this week’s episode, too, but I had to stop for something else. I had just reached the point where they caught the guy. I assume there will be an interrogation to follow and a wind-up with Brenda’s parents. Frances Sternhagen is such a nice lady. I had a chance to chat with her for a while on the set of The Mist.
I’m almost finished with the long essay I’ve been working on lately. Another read-through and I’ll send it off to the editor. I have three book reviews to finish this month for a market I’ve never written for before. I’ve read one of the books, and am halfway through the second. I also have to record an audio snippet to go along with the Wrong World Halloween anthology sometime in the next week, and start thinking about a topic for my next Storytellers Unplugged essay. Busy month.
