Worst finale ever

We finished Season 2 of Star Trek: The Next Generation last night. “Shades of Grey” had to be the worst season finale ever. It’s the one where Riker is poked in the leg by a barb and is infected with something that starts taking over his nervous system. The doctor puts probes in his head to stimulate his memories and we are treated to a greatest hits recap of the previous two seasons. The loves and battles of William Riker. I have to think they’d blown the budget for the season. It might have been effective if they’d used quick cut memory snippets to give us an impression of what he was going through, but to show minutes-long outtakes from previous episodes was just plain silly. Season 2 was a significant improvement over Season 1 (the addition of Guinan and Ten-forward were a major part of this improvement), but it was a terrible way to end things.

‘Twas chilly here this morning. Right at 32° when I was driving to work. Supposed to warm up in a few days, though.
