Probably won’t be reading or writing much online for the next several days. I have a crack-of-dawn flight tomorrow and get in to my destination at the end of the afternoon. I’ll have limited internet access on Friday and Saturday, and then it’s back home on Sunday. US Air arbitrarily changed my return flights—I had a nice connection in Philly that got me home at supper time and they bumped me back to a later flight that gives me enough time in Philly to tour the entire state of Pennsylvania. I’m hoping to rectify that when I get to the airport, but I’m not hopeful. Got my copy of Queen of Bedlam last night, so I’ll have plenty of reading material in case I end up in the airport for a long time.
The weather for NECON looks a little dodgy, with a decent chance of rain some of the days. A lot of events are indoors, but if it rains in the late evening it will put a literal damper on the quad hangout, which is one of my favorite parts of the convention. Sure, we can retreat to our rooms and have parties, but the mingling aspect is harder. Fingers crossed.
Watched The Closer last night. Good episode. I liked the old geezer who guest starred. Less fond of the ongoing personal subplot with Brenda and her new living arrangements, but it was funny that she first faxed herself and then sent a search warrant to the realtor instead of the closing offer.
Jen surprised me on Big Brother last night. I knew she was going to consider nominating Nick when she saw him canoodling with Danielle again, but she actually got over her jealousy and put Joe up instead. I’d like to see Dick prevail, not that I have anything seriously against Joe—but I can’t wait to see what happens next week, since Jen basically has no friends or allies in the house. None. Zero. Nada. Not so sure about this “America’s Player” twist this year. It turns one player into a puppet with no voice of his own. Thought it was funny, though, that America made him sleepwalk into bed with Joe. America has a sense of humor, it seems.
