So, Russell got the boot on Big Brother. No big surprise there. Natalie had the temerity to announce that the three people who got to vote would be voting for her, so Julie Chen decided to give her a jolt by saying her name first when the eviction was announced. However, it was Russell who got shaken up, as he was already on his feet when Julie said the numbers, and her backwards way of presenting the results confused him momentarily.
I think Jeff is going to have to play for the veto like he’s never played before if he wants to remain in the house much longer. Oh, yeah, and Lydia totally caved when she got to the house with Jessie. She put up this big blustery front about wanting to kick his ass and all that, but that lasted for all of about a minute.
I finished reading Tears of the Giraffe to my wife last night and moved straight into Morality for Beautiful Girls, books two and three of the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series. These two books cover the seven or eight episodes from the HBO/BBC TV series, so from this point on the stories will be entirely new. The series ended with Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni’s maid plotting to get Mma Ramotswe, a storyline that the second book resolves.
I think I’m going to give the story I’m working on a new name. Even though the character and his situation remains much the same as in the original version, very few of the original words will be used. I liked the earlier title, but the new one has a lot going for it, too, and has multiple meanings, both literal and metaphorical. In essence, I’ve completely rebuilt the story from the ground up, so why shouldn’t it get a new identity? Both titles have two words. I tend to favor short titles. My longest to date is “What David Was Doing When the Lights Went Out,” and that was a mouthful.
LjArchive seems to be working again. Yay!
