I know Mr. Strand will disagree with me, but I’m glad the dragonslayer got the axe on Survivor last night. He was such a fake and a malingerer. A lot of the other survivors have made comments alluding to the fact that he does nothing around the camp. He pulled a couple of really dumb stunts in this week’s episode. Deliberately not eating before an immunity challenge, for example. And no one seemed convinced by his painful episode after the challenge, either. I know this stuff is selectively edited, but still. And if you watch the Ponderosa videos, you can see that he’s the exact same way in real life. I missed a couple of minutes a week or so ago, but who was this “assistant coach” who came as his family member — was that a real family member?
Still, I have to wonder what’s going to go down between JT and Steven after the vote, since I doubt that JT is going to be very pleased that Steven went off script. JT’s biggest problem lately has been that he’s started acting like the emperor, speaking on behalf of his alliance without consulting Steven. Good for Steven for striking out on his own. It was the perfect moment to make a strong, strategic move in the game. However, what Steven should have done was have Taj give Erinn the immunity idol and then have everyone vote for Erinn except for Erinn, who would then evict Coach. That would have been a beautiful play that would have left Steven looking solid with JT. This was the last week for the idol anyway. The only risk would have been that it would have left the eviction in Erinn’s hands, and she might have gotten rid of Taj or JT instead, but I think she would have played along.
Alas, I’m going to miss the finale and won’t get to see it until late next week, by which time I will no doubt have heard elsewhere who won.
