Nice try with the CGI submarine effect on Lost last night. Not quite a gold star effort, but an E for effort. I found myself concentrating on the way the ripples the sub generated didn’t interact with the normal tide waves more than anything else. It was a rollicking episode, all in all. The scene where Locke tells Richard what to say when they encounter a familiar figure out in the jungle was pretty mind bending. Richard’s not quite the all-powerful, all-seeing guy he seemed to be early on. He’s just had the benefit of some inside information thanks to time travelers. The scene with Hurley and Chang discussing historical events was pretty funny. So, you fought in the Korean War? There’s…no…such…thing.
Nice shout-out to Stephen King in this week’s Fringe, giving him credit for coining the word pyrokinesis. I’m glad I stuck with the show through the entire season. I rarely watch it live, but I always enjoy it when I get a chance to visit the stuff on my DVR.
I had to spend part of last night doing some more work on the book-in-progress. Responses to the proofreader’s comments and some issues with images and captions. Looks like I’ll be seeing another set of proofs, either at the end of this week or early next week. Definitely a record for the number of page proof versions I’ve seen for a project.
I wrote my Storytellers Unplugged essay this morning and posted it to the dashboard to appear on May 17th. Sometimes ideas for these essays come to me fully formed. When that happens, I leap at the opportunity. Never leave inspiration waiting at the door, I always say. (Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever said that before, but I do now.)
No doubt about it–summer has arrived, packing humidity. It is flirting with 90° today. A second crop of Easter lilies that I hadn’t noticed before put in an appearance today, too. They seem to like the weather.
