In the rerun wasteland that is network television, last night’s prime time viewing was limited to the pilot episode of House, M.D.. I came late to the show, but I saw part of this episode on an airline flight sometime in 2007. Better seen on a bigger screen. I find it remarkable how well developed the characters were even at that early stage of things. I did tape whatever Law and Order was on last night, but too late for me so I’ll watch it tonight.
Another rejection letter yesterday, the first of ’08, from a Canadian literary magazine. Turned around and sent the story back out to another Canadian literary magazine. Getting the submission back into circulation ate up a bit of my writing time this morning, but I still managed to get nearly 1000 words done. Another morning or two and I should be finished the first chapter. I still have to do a little bit of research into survivable stab wounds to the neck, which I hope to finish this evening in preparation for tomorrow’s session.
I was surprised by last night’s primary results. Earlier in the day I had predicted a double-digit win by Obama. When I first tuned in at around 7:30 central, Clinton had a 3 point lead with 10% of the precincts reporting. The pundits were being very guarded, predicting all sorts of gloom and doom other parts of the state counted their tallies, but the vote profile changed very little for the rest of the evening. When I turned the TV off, 60% of the votes were in, the margin was 3% and they were still waffling. This makes the primary season a little more interesting than a walk-away win by one of the candidates would have afforded.
