I started a new short story this morning. I only got about two pages written, but it felt good to be under way. I have in-depth knowledge of the character and the circumstances and absolutely no idea of the plot. It occurs to me that I might cannibalize another, older, unsold story because I think they tread similar territory.
I went to a real, live bookstore for the first time in I can’t remember how long. I had a 30% off coupon from Borders that was burning a hole in my pocket. I was on a mission, though. No browsing, because then I might have done serious damage. I picked up Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke, Stalin’s Ghost by Martin Cruz Smith, and Dead Man’s Song by Jonathan Maberry, the second book in his Ghost Road Blues trilogy.
The one place I didn’t visit, though, was the store where they sell enough time to read all these books.
Speaking of books, Big Finish, the UK publisher of Doctor Who: Destination Prague, completely revamped their web site. This is the new link to follow if you want to read more about this awesome anthology.
Jameka came out of the woodwork last night and made her personality known. An interesting approach to the game—the God-driven approach. God made Jen pick her name for the POV competition so she felt obligated to use her power to free Jen from contention. I know many of the other players were flabbergasted by her strategy. Dustin went on a joyride with his Big Brother bucks and bought himself a trip to the Bahamas and $5000 cash, much to the consternation of his fellow players. If he hadn’t gone on the binge, he would have kept his nominations in place. However, I think things worked out pretty good, for everyone except old Evil Nick and Danielle. I hope Nick goes home tomorrow. I voted to have Eric vote for him. 10 times—the maximum allowed.
