  • Watched,  Beau Is Afraid.

A man who suffers from serious anxiety makes a trip home to see his mother.

This was nuts, full on bonkers, I enjoyed it but at times I was wondering what the actual fcuk is going on here.🤔 the performances are all excellent but.....its just nuts.

  • Black Noise 2023 - IMDb.....this movie was about as enjoyable as an acid filled belch.....plotless and mind numbing.....

  • I saw Harakiri (1962) today with an excellent Tatsuye Nakadai (also in Yojimbo and Kagemusha) in the lead. He was on the same level of excellence that Toshiro Mifune often was on. I consider Mifune one of the best actors i ever seen on the screen. This is about a Ronin (thats a Samurai that does not have a lord to serve and therefore os disgraced since he is alive but his master is not. He wanders in to another lords courtyard and asks to be allowed to commit Harakiri there (that is, you guessed it, to inflict two deep knifewounds on oneself so that your guts spill out before your assistent slices off your head to avoid the shame of showing pain. He has an ulterior motive thst is not immediately obvious. Its taking place in the 1610,s, so under the newly founded Shogunate. The movie deals closely with Bushido, the Code according to which all samurai must live if they will call themselfes samurai. To break the rules of bushido is to lose  face, to lose your honor and if you lose face enough the only way regain some of it is to commit Harakiri. At he same time it has an interesting plot, sidestories and scenes with violence. Best movie i've seen in a long while

  • Rewatched,  In Bruges.

Two hitmen have to lay low in Bruges after a disastrous botched job.

A superb movie, laugh out loud funny and also sad and moving, excellent performances from all involved. Worth a look if you've not seen it before

  • This is Udo Kier. A German actor in many horror movies. He is 80 years old now.

I remember him from some Lars Von Trier movies (Breaking the waves, Dancing in the Dark, Dogville, Melancholia) and his excellent Tv-series Riket.

      • The Player (altman)

i’ve tried many times to watch this and for whatever reason, it slogged even though it is highly acclaimed. Storyline barely interesting but by the time it even remotely became that for me, it was over with no answers.

        i hated it.

      • Rewatched this classic
        The Fugitive 1993 - IMDb
Just as good now as it was in 1993.

      • Rewatched,  Deep Rising.

A group of mercenaries board a luxury liner with the intention of robbing and sinking it. When aboard they discover a handful of survivors and the rest of the passengers and crew have been devoured by something from the deep....

I enjoyed it, it's a wee bit dated but it's still fun,  creature design is good,  performances are fine. Definitely a pizza and beer movie🍕 🍻

          • Heretic.

I really liked this. Very interesting. So many truths in this movie on religion.

            The one true religion? Control.
