    Mothers’ Instinct

    hulu

Not bad. Also a bit of a surprise in the end.  It could’ve been tightened up, it dragged. But it was okay.

  • Free State of Jones film - Wikipedia.....this one really kept my attention....
    Hedda GablerNotaroFlakeNoir
  • Watched Ghost Ship with Gabriel Byrne in the lead. But to be honest this is not a good movie. I kept watching (home in bed with a cold) so it is watchable but also easy forgettable.

Horror and dark comedy? Either way it's pretty bizarre. It did get my attention that's for sure. Netflix

  • Prey 2021 Rotten Tomatoes....on Netflix, 2021 German film that had a promising premise, but managed to only be mildly watchable.....plotting was like a mound of overly moist mashed potatoes and don't get me started on firearm handling and ballistics....

  • The Score. on netflix. It has Robert de Niro, Marlon Brando, Edward Norton and Angela Bassett in the leads. It is a heist movie, a bit slow in its pacing at times and nothing really new but with actors of that calibre playing makes it worth watching. The one last heist thing.  Max (Brando) persuades Nick (de Niro) to make one last coup before he retires with his girlfriend Diane (Bassett). Since its a complicated thing Nick hires Paul (Norton) as an associate. Brandos last role. Made in 2001.

  • Colors of Evil Red 2024 - IMDb....Polish crime thriller.....well done..........

  • Red Sparrow. Spy thriller that has merit. Jennifer Lawrence in the lead with support from Ciaran Hinds, Jeremy Irons, Joel Edgerton and Charlotte Rampling.

  • Watched Crooked House. Adaption of a Christie novel with the same name. One of the best novels not featuring either Poirot or Miss Marple i think. the movie Fairly true to its source though there are a few changes which i find rather unnecessary. Glenn Close has a supporting role and totally steals the show everytime she has a scene. Otherwise its OK.

  • The Pale Blue Eye 2022 - IMDb....highly enjoyable mystery thriller.....Bale is good and Melling as Poe is fascinating....

  • saq The Ghost in the Shell. A action movie based on a japanese manga comic. Set in a future most humans enhance themselves with robotic parts. But Mira is a totally new step, a kive human brain in a android body. Decent action flic with hood efforts frpm the actors. Scarlett Johansson in the lead as Mira and the doctor that built her but does not approve of how the company is planning to use her is played by Juliette Binoche. Also many japanese actors that were good.

  • Aftermath 2024 - IMDb....the little feller from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody is all growed up and being a bad ass with a foul mouth.....
    Hedda GablerFlakeNoir
  • Five Nights at Freddys film - Wikipedia...finally watched it....just dumb enough to be decent...
    Hedda GablerFlakeNoir
  • Rambo Last Blood 2019 - IMDb....self-produced so to speak, but he handled the formula quite deftly.....impressive.....

  • Watched The International with Cliwe Owen and Naomi Watts in the leads. They are trying to take down a swiss bank involved in many shady things including asssassinations. And with good contacts in all the right places. It was soso, i think Owen was in routine mode and did not seem very interested straight through which killed some of it for me.

Are you willing to say what you liked about it? Anyone else who liked it? And why?

  • Nic cage is gonzo. I have a soft spot for Alicia Witt. It has a silence of the lambs vibe.

I didn’t even realize that was Cage until I looked it up for basic info.  Creepy as hell character.

Most people really liked this. I thought it was boring. I just could not get on board with the ball in the head stuff. I knew every single twist from the beginning. Who was involved, who it was going to target.

I’m guessing everyone else did too because everything was so obvious, so it was more an atmosphere thing that just get.

“Do not adjust your screen.  "There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture."

Apparently I just got bored with finishing that thought or make any attempt whatsoever to make it coherent.

It should say, “that I didn’t get.”  Whatever.

  • Rewatched, since they remade it, the original Crow from 1994 with Brandon Lee. It holds up. Still quite good though i'm not sure what it is that makes it work but it does. Sure Lee is good in the lead but thats not really enough of an explanation. Why oh why did they remake it??? It was totally unnecessary.
