Scared off another one
We finally got some rain yesterday. At first it looked like it was going to be another one of those teases. The sky got very dark, stayed dark, and then it rained for about 30 seconds and stopped. However, an … Continue reading
Remodeling a story
The short story that I submitted on Saturday was received favorably by the two editors who’ve read it so far, one of them tells me. It still has to pass by one more editor, so it’s not exactly accepted yet, … Continue reading
Best Laid Plans
Probably the only good thing about this drought we are in is the fact that I don’t have to mow the lawn. I think I’ve had the mower out once in the past six weeks. The grass is growing a … Continue reading

The Bar
I checked out an electronic version of a novel from our local library, just to see how it’s done. The novel is What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman. Couldn’t transfer it to my Kindle–at least, I don’t think so, … Continue reading

I think I finally got a handle on the final essay I’m doing for an upcoming encyclopedia. I only had 500 words to work with, but I’m quite satisfied with the draft I completed this morning. I’ll read it over … Continue reading
